Cuava - Final Year Project
Cuava is the development name for my final year project; however the name will change when the final product is released.
Cuava is a social ecommerce website for book lovers. The website will allow book lovers to join a community in which they can share their passion for reading. The website will include a price comparison tool, the ability to download book previews, the function to share books with friends and integration into existing social networking sites.
In addition to the website, I will also be developing a mobile phone application which will use a phones camera as a barcode reader. A user will then be able to go into a bookstore and scan the barcodes on a book. The application will then link into the website to extract user reviews and price comparisons. The barcode reader will also be used to upload books to a user’s shelf on the website.
As this project is still in development there are still many features that need to be completed. Currently, the website has the following features available:
- User registration
- User login system
- User unique profiles
- The ability to upload a book to a user’s shelf
- The website extracts data from Amazons API to display book covers, book titles, author name, prices and Amazon reviews.
- The ability to view other user profiles
- The ability to write reviews for each book
- The ability to leave a message on a member’s profile.
